I am a Christ Follower, a wife and mom to 4 children with many names: helpmate, homemaker and homeschooler.

My high school sweet-heart and I have been married 11 years now.  The first 5 years of our marriage my husband was enlisted in the US Army and I learned to live as an Army Wife.  He has recently been activated and deployed as an Army Reservist.  We are thankful God has blessed us with 3 boys: Bug, age 6; Monkey, age 4, Little Man, age 2 and this year Sweet Pea our precious girl.

For several years I struggled with the challenges of balancing wife, mom and working – with a job outside the home.  After intense struggle, God convicted us that I was meant to be at home with our children.  Surrendering our primary income to the more important task of raising up our children, I quit my full-time job to become a full-time mom (what I consider my HIGH calling).  His reward was our bundle of joy – Little Man.  I continued to wrestle in my pursuit of him, desiring to know him more and to live a life abundant in him.  In spite of my fears of inadequacy and my struggles to manage my home and my children effectively he blessed us with a beautiful baby girl.  In April, we welcomed Sweet Pea to our family.  Her arrival has continued to teach me that I am not equipped to do anything on my own, especially the task of child rearing but that I must constantly surrender to the Lord.

What a blessing it is to be a stay-at-home mom of 3 sons and now a beautiful girl.  God is constantly changing my heart, directing me to be a better parent, and teaching me to guide and direct my children.  I LOVE resources and finding tools to help me more successfully manage my home or my time, to accomplish more in my schedule, and I am constantly seeking to do things better. {You’ll soon find out I’m a resource junkie}

Kids - 2014 Update

Kids Slide 2

In 2013 as we approached school age, God placed on our heart one verse that has directed our decision to homeschool: “These words which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7. We felt then that God was calling us to homeschool.  We weren’t sure how long we would homeschool…But as the 2014-2015 school year approached and we explored our options in public school and charter schools we realized the was no other reasonable alternative. With hesitation I had to surrender myself to the realization that God has called us to homeschool again this school year.  In faith we move forward, praying for his blessings as we seek to know him more. Knowing that he has “equipped you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His Sight.” Hebrews 13:21
